Person-Centered Culture

The presentation will focus on a brief history, language, building on capacities, choice and supporting meaningful routines. The emphasis will be on building a culture that supports these principles which will ultimately result in more person-centered services.

Participants will:

– Identify the cultural items in an organization
– Move from a deficit based planning process to a capacity based practices
– Support choice and control for people supported
– Promote person-centered language
– Develop support strategies
